My 2019 Titanium 2.0 Escape has for the last thousand miles or so developed a very disturbing "shudder" when driving between 40 and 50 mph, with trans shifted into 6th gear. While driving slowly and with a bit of pressure on the accelerator the car has a distinct vibration. If the trans shifts into a higher gear it goes away.Drives smooth no odd noises like a wheel bearing. It shakes and pulses when braking. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. In typical know it all fashion I turned the rotors and replaced the pads. No improvement. I figured it was the rear drums so I tested it using the e-brake while holding the release. No shaking.The problem may be the vapor/liquid separator valve. The valve is designed to prevent liquid fuel from entering the charcoal canister/emissions system. When the valve fails, liquid gas can enter the line and fill the charcoal canister. After refueling the PCM on the vehicle detects a change in fuel level.
