Browning a5 problems.

A few months ago I purchased a new Browning A5 in 16ga. I shot probably about 300 shells through it with no issues whatsoever, but the last two times I took it to the sporting clays course it has been having feed issues. Anyone have any insight on my problem? I'm planning on calling Browning this morning but wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts or similar issues. For clarity, I did fully strip the gun and cleaned and oiled prior to shooting. So the gun has had a full cleaning out of the box.

Browning Auto 5 problems. I just picked up a 1950 Auto 5 that seems to have multiple problems. It won't eject fired shells and when you manually eject... the next shell feeds but the one in line afterwards dumps out the bottom. I was able to disassemble the gun and cleaned and oiled it well but it didn't help much.FWIW. As others have told you, the gun may be dirty, need lubrication, or have the friction pieces adjusted. Usually an Auto-5 with those problems will still cycle stout hunting loads. As was mentioned above, there's rarely a reason to totally disassemble an auto-5. It's easy to take the stock off to get to the return spring, and trigger assembly out, and barrel off, and recoil spring assembly. You just need a good set of screwdrivers to keep from buggering up the screw heads.Don't do it. I may catch a lot of flak for this but the Browning A5's made in the last 10-12 years have been horrible. This is a new design got it from Mid West Gun works the part # B1182200A7 and it's cheaper than original. Gun works now no problems. The original bolt extractor has been discontinued. It sounds as though you may want to replace the recoil spring that fits around the magazine tube. Purchase a Grace A5 screwdriver set then remove the stock & replace the recoil spring inside the small tube.
